Sunday Oct. 19th planted two conventional varieties of garlic 2 lbs of each for total of approx 4 pounds in one and a half beds ( approx 60′ of bed ) . An added challenge is going to be gofer control.

Planted beets Thursday Oct 9th 2014 in box #5 . 3 rows, added feed and compost to bottom of trench. ( Alden placed and covered seeds )
Garden work
- Presenting the Class of 2014 … 17 new hens and 1 rooster raised from chicks purchased at Northern Star Mills. Coming into egg production this month.
Sun. Sept. 28th Harvested corn, pumpkins, other veggies. Will be curing in sun for a day or two. Except corn which will dry for weeks. Weeded large area to be made into veggie beds. Good weeds to compost pile, bad weeds to burn pile. Corn stalks and squash plants chop up with machete for better composting.
Tues. Sept 30th finished weeding and formed 7 planting bests 4′ x 42′ !! and planted PV premium soil builder.
Winter garden plantings Oct. 1st 2012
I swung by Chico Food COOP before heading up the hill and bought 4 six packs of starts. Red Kale, Purple Cabbage, and a couple other kale & cabbage plants.
